Walvis Bay Sunshine Centre is one of the very few community-based organizations in Namibia providing services that enhance quality of life for children and youth with disabilities and their families.

Oonte is a humanitarian support organization providing essential services to vulnerable children and households living in Ondangwa, a town in the northern Oshana region.

They provide access to nutritional programs, early childhood education, psychosocial support, computer literacy, after-school classes, and extracurricular activities, reaching more than 700 children annually.

Caring for vulnerable children

 

The Promiseland Trust offers a child-friendly and safe environment that provides early education and day care services, nutrition, and psychosocial support to children in Walvis Bay.

In addition to education, Promiseland provides daily home-cooked meals to school children, and advises seven area schools on improving their food programs. Their Foster Care Project employs a foster mother from the community to care for two children, ensuring they are raised in a stable and caring environment.

Creating an oasis in the desert for children

 

Every day Light for the Children welcomes hundreds of children from their community of Gobabis to their early education center.

The center provides pre-school and kindergarten education as well as day care services, after school classes for older children, and home based care services.

Light for the Children also provides nutritious meals for each child prepared from the center’s vegetable garden.
