Cáritas provides underserved rural communities in Gaza Province with access to education and health care, psychosocial support, and nutritional programs.

To further strengthen the safety net of care for orphaned and vulnerable children, their programs also support caregivers and guardians through sustainable farming training, providing start-up capital, and constructing houses and latrines. Associação Hixikanwe started as a small support group for women in Maputo Province affected by HIV/AIDS. The group transformed into an organization providing psychosocial support, economic strengthening, and prevention activities.

Hixikanwe uses the research-based Community Adherence Treatment Supporters (CATS) model, to support adolescents on antiretroviral treatment.

Bizweni is an educational day care centre in the Western Cape for children aged 2-18 years old living with physical and intellectual disabilities. They are the only facility in the surrounding community that provides this specialized care.

Each child is assessed by a specialist and receives an individual education plan. Bizweni also provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as a music program, nutritional support, and transport to and from the center.
